Replacing the hose from holding tank to thru hull valve on a Beneteau Cyclades 393 - the sanitary hose is 70mm outside diameter, internal diameter of 60mm. I've had no luck finding a replacement anywhere and was hoping someone might have an idea where I could find a metre of it, or if perhaps I could just use wet exhaust hose?

That is an unusual size. What is the bore diameter of your thru hull skin fitting/valve?

It is unusual - thru hull itself looks like a 38mm, but the valve is oversized (see the pictures attached). If I switch to a 38mm hose I need to replace the valve but also need to replace the holding tank as the 60mm outlet is bonded in the base of the tank and cannot be easily removed, other than perhaps getting a custom fitting made valve.jpgthruhull.jpg

Sorry - based in Ireland. Tried Megaflex - same as some of the others - they list it as available, but don't hold any of it as stock and can only order a minimum roll of 40 metres :-( - Guy in Megaflex even checked with the factory in Italy.

If you want to keep that valve, can you swap the hose tail to one with a 38mm tail? Use 38mm hose and then use a short step-up hose to connect to the holding tank (lots available on ebay and with such a short length in contact with the contents does not need to be sanitation quality). With a 38mm skin fitting there is no benefit in having a larger bore hose than 38mm.

I heard that wet exhaust is not suitable. I was tempted to spray the outside with anything to help seal it. I did my own research and identified the same UK source and the Italian manufacturer and I had the same problem with minimum order length plus the prohibitive volumetric freight costs Like. What the hell is everybody else with a Lagoon using??? I’ve posted with no replies. I’ve prepped myself to use 38 mm hose with various adaptors. I also sourced barrel union fittings which are needed to introduce a new hose into the installation as it allows a sideways sliding in approach for the trailing end without trying to bend it backwards on itself to slip onto a barb fitting. What a challenge and a head spin. Valve warehouse in Australia have those fittings.
