In my exceptionally poor Portuguese, I think this fisherman explained that keeping them in his shoulder bag results in the bag being destroyed in no time at all. Removing a lure from his shirt takes seconds. Plus he doesn't need to dig around in his bag, puncturing his fingers while looking for the correct colour lure.

Makes sense to me.

I'm not a worm drowner but I'd be inclined to stick them in my hat. Having two left hands I'd probably hook myself scratching around for my specs if I hooked them in my shirt.
