have had that but if its busy they USED to say it would take a while, which i judged for myself when the bar was full of cloggies.

BTW.....what are the "wet wipes" you use on board. they removed the smell of diesel from my hands and would like to keep them on board.

I may have a crew space for blankenberg this weekend....over Sat....back sunday.

1. Every time I go in to The Lightship - when it's busy, when it's not so busy, chap comes to take order, sucks teeth, shakes head, says with a mournful expression ... 'it may be some time, could be 40 mins.... or an hour.....'

Oddly, food always arrives pretty soon after ordering it.

2. On the subject of wet wipes - very superior Pampers Baby Wipes. They clean absolutely everything on a boat. Even clean up stuff proprietory cleaners don't have any impact on. Makes you wonder what is in 'em and why they are 'safe' to use on babies bums.

3. That's interesting.

What do you expect - you can't cremate a lasagna in just a couple of minutes.
It takes time.

Only eaten there a couple of times - won't do so again.

Is it me, or does the place have a certain stroppy, snobby attitude?
Not the staff - but the "members"?
I'm the first to admit I'm not a sharp dresser - but these "Look what the cat dragged in" kind of receptions... not what I need.
More often than not, I've been out sailing and just need some warm decent food and a pint.

I've taken to driving to Fox's - I don't get the Blue Blazer reception there.
Food's better & cheaper. So's the beer and the company is, at times, delightful.
He even gets a round in from time to time /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

T'was my experience too - I thought the food was very OK. Obviously not a connoisseur like some people /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

When I was in practice we were told to not to give people an easy answer. Make it sound difficult, scare them witless and then sell then a solution! The guy in the Lightship obviously wants you to think that they made a special effort just for you!
