I looked at the Awards page the other day, but could not think of a single thing to vote for!!

To my mind - a bit daft as very few boaters travel the whole river, or in many cases, more than half a dozen.

The lock side gardens used to be a pleasure to behold, but since EA grubbed up the flower beds most look a bit drab, so it's difficult to get much enthusiasm.

Surprisingly enough Iffley looked great when I passed by a couple of weeks ago. The "wild" garden (untended since Ferd left) had loads of colour and interesting plants. Much the same as the picture on the "survey" web page.

Shiplake gets around the issue by having its flowers in boxes on the fence, but they're not ready yet.

Actually, it might be interesting to see detailed comments from members on this forum. Visible comments from even this small community might spur EA into some form of action / competition, or even reconsider their decision over flower beds now that Elfin Safety is now dead.

EA incompetence, probably.

Just voted for Shiplake in the best kept lock.
question that requires completion; state of toilets. answer 1 to 5 from excellent to poor.

So far as I am aware there is no public toilet at Shiplake? Does anyone know different?
