They are lovely!

Had the pleasure of whiling away the afternoon today up and down the local harbour on one of these. I can see why their owners rate them.

Fairly gusty breeze, needed two reefs but very well mannered. That 9hp diesel is just right too for getting through choppy seas.

Hadnt sailed a Gaffer in many years but a nice reminder of long gone days!

If you dont have one, but get a chance to sail one, dont miss it. :D
 
Only been on a Shrimper once, helping my uncle rig and launch it for the first time. But we're just selling her bigger sister, a 24' Cornish Yawl, and I'm hoping I won't regret that too much :)

I can recommend the Shrimper Week at Rock as a slightly surreal way of racing. For anyone used to fleet racing in fast accurate "modern" bermudan rig boats, almost everything is different..........
