Who knows the dept in the chennal as we have just moved to a mooring in the creak and got there about 1 hour after low water and had a fun time sitting aground.

Is it deeper buy the red cans or the green sprigets?

We draw 1.4 what side of low water can we expect to be able to get out?

Last year's chartlet is here http://www.crossingthethamesestuary.com/page6.html Haven't been there to check it yet this year - 'cos the cover still on!

There used to be a time when the advice was keep by the withies (your green 'sprigets') but that has not applied for a couple of years. Best water was in the middle of the marked channel - as far as the channel was concerned. For slightly more water follow the line of mooring buoys leaving them to port as you enter. But I stress that's last year.

Mystic is/was in Mersea and a chum sold Misty Blue from Heybridge a few years back. Whilst a bit bijou dans inside for an average sized chap like me, I thought them rather nice

If you are wanting to grab every last inch of water (as entering in to the chanel from the Blackwater), slightly more water could be found if you put the red cans to starboard about half way down the channel, by doing this you will miss the very slight hump in the mud.
But we are only talking of a couple more inches........... the usual disclaimer applies - but that was last year!!

Regards

Ian
