The days are now getting longer, and yes, the worst of winter is yet to come. But at least summer is getting nearer and the time to get afloat is getting closer. The charts are coming out over Christmas and there will be lively discussions about destinations and itineries over the pud and wine. So for all afloat and those who are waiting, have a happy Christmas and may Neptune grant us fair winds and calm seas in the year ahead.

We are in the peak sailing months out here and even in the off season [ summer] the sailing is still excellent but you just have to pay attention to the weather.

Romped down from Tyrell Bay Carriacou to Clarks Court Bay Grenada taking the windward route yesterday. The GPS was reading 9 to 11 knots most of the way which is good going for a 44 ft cutter, the odd splash was 82 F and the sun was shining.

The cruisers net is telling me that there is a pot luck and barbecue at Secret Harbor on Christmas Day so that's that sorted.
