Need to find a place to haul out for the winter months to refit before setting off to Med next spring. Boat is a Prout Snowgoose catamaran 11.2metre OAL X 5 metre beam. Anywhere in the Solent area generally will do. Northney marina on Hayling can take her and have good facilities but are expensive. Anyone any ideas of a more affordable place that can take cats? Most smaller yards don't have travelifts or haul out cradles that big....

Have you tried HYC, Mill Rythe, just down from Northney? The fishing boat (steel cat) they launched earlier this year was bigger than that.

Funnily enough Dave I keep her on one of their moorings at Mill Rythe now but to get her ashore they would have to bring in a special crane. Usually they haul out up a slipway with a wheeled cradle pulled by tractor but the cradle isn't wide enough! Thanks anyway....

Never mind, it was just a thought. I keep our boat, Evadne, there as well and I thought I remembered that big steel cat thingy being launched this spring, but now you come to mention it I think they brought in a crane specially for the job. You could always run her up on the mud in the creek, a lot of boats seem to do that anyway...

Indeed I do, although this year I've been away at sea too many times and hardly been sailing at all. I'm hoping for an indian summer after next week, if the weed isn't so long that she can't sail any more!
