Hi all. Looks like ive learned another expencive lesson. I left a heater on board over winter, and ive just discovered 2 hatches nacked, i went to open them and the plastic pushed out, i think the warmth must have shrunk the seals. Question can they be repaird, or can i just seal them into the rubber seal with silicon or whatever,,,,..... would be gratefull for any suggestions. Regards all..

I'm no expert but I did once build three hatches out of s/steel perspex and polyurethane. You can use polyurethane for a seal but it won't work effectively as a glue. Nothing sticks to perspex for long in my experience. If you need something to hold them in (and the water out) then that won't be enough. If you can use the poly as a sealent then fasten against it with screws or better bolts sometimes that can be effective, also thicker beads of sealent are more flexible and therefore resiliant than thin stingy ones.

I'm happy to be contradicted by wiser heads /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
