Hatch waterproofing

My companionway hatch, a fairly bog-standard sliding affair, used to have some waterproofing around the perimeter - half an inch thick rubber foam strips, like really thick neoprene, probably self-adhesive. I'm guessing they're at least ten years old and are crumbling away, so a replacement is needed.
What would you use?
