Just found that my boat's hatch is leaking and caused by the rubber seal getting old. Could I just get simliar type of rubber to replace it? And, what kinds of glue do I have to use to make it stick on the hatch?
I saw a good inexpensive idea for the hatch on a widebeam barge recently.
A small clear plastic cover like a small tarpauline had been made, slightly larger than the hatch and held in place by elastic bungee straps. This allowed the hatch to be opened for ventilation, even when raining. I also suspect it would stop this annoying habbit they have of leaking. Even when new I've been told twigs etc. will get caught inbetween the seal, letting a few drops of water in when raining.
