Worked a treat, worth doing - nice guy operates a pair of underwater brushes. Clever machine moves the boat sliding mooring along for the next "sweep". Made a good job of removing the growth but not too much antifoul.

When we turned up there was a 50' squadron thingy in the wash - It will handle any shape - flat ribbed - keels etc.. bigger surface areas take longer - As for max length - anything that can fit on the D pontoon.

How did you assess the amount of A/F removed?

Reading their website they seem very cautious about recommending its use on boats with eroding A/F

The a/f underneath is lighter blue than the topcoat - it was starting to show through in places anyway. It really looks no different now, the rudder is still a uniform dark blue.
She is certainly cleaner that she was,
An interesting point, the man suggested that to minimise growth, moor the boat the other way round to change the sunlight promotion.

Free......if you berth at Campers Gosport. It's a good will gesture from Gosport Marina Ltd for all we've had to put up with in the last year or so.

Was wondering if it was any good and, thus, good to hear it is

DIY

Why don't more people don a wet suit and a mask and do it themselves. Cleaned the hull of my 32' motor boat in about 45 minutes yesterday using just a sponge.

If it is done every few months the hull stays clear of weed with just the usual slime which is easy to clean.

BTW even sailing boats need their props cleaning, also dived under a motorsailor to see more mussels growing than I could eat in a year and the prop completely covered with barnacles - no wonder he couldn't make more than 1 kt!!

Re: changing the sunny side

I can go along with that - I have had to remove some strands of kelp from the "sunny side" - on the north side - zilch.

Best regards )
