has anyone dealt with ancasta

I must say I think you have got 'red mist' now, go away write everything down, put it in order and get professional advice before you shoot yourself in the foot /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have every sympathy, but it must be done properly or you will suffer even more in the end.

i have no doubt that ancasta have treated your father badly but you really need to look at the bigger picture

if you continue to defame ancasta on an open forum their lawyers will rip you apart in court and the police and crown prosecution will have little choice but to drop any case you try to bring against ancasta.
please spend your time next week getting legal advice and putting things down on paper and then getting your family to read it to make sure you have all the facts.

good luck and i hope your sister is getting better

we bought our boat (new) from Ancasta Hamble and found them excellent. Done the deal at LIBS 2003 - gave us good impartial advice and the deal went through very smoothly.

Am I missing something?

Hang on, he's only doing exactly what I suggested to him previously, which is to ask exactly this question to see how others have found them - rather than taking his previous tack.

and I asked a perfectly reasonable question on the only thread he has remaining. He also has an ulterior motive that most people who are buying boats and cars don't have. So why do I have to hang on again?

I think GC1's advice is probably quite appropriate in the circumstances.

Bought a second-hand boat from them last year.
Head sales bloke appeared to me sullen and charmless.
Another salesman belligerently argued that photocopy of VAT receipt was fine with French customs!!
On collection of boat, obvious faults not rectified. Put them right myself subsequently.
Broker dealing with me refused to go down and hand the boat over as he was "too busy".
An important item listed on the sales schedule was found to be missing and took several weeks before it was supplied.
Only consolation was as they are a large and apparantly shambolic outfit you can screw them down for a good deal probably because they are like car salesmen and have to hit targets.
Despite all this I am very pleased with my Beneteau but I get the feeling that bad stories about imported boats could often be down to the UK agents who charge a small fortune to "commission" new boats and do it badly. The manufacturers should check out the UK agents work.
These are my personal opinions and experiences - I am sure Ancasta have many delighted cusomers who are entirely saisfied with their dealings with the company.
I wouldn't go anywhere near them again.

Yes I have also dealt with Ancasta at Hassler, Portsmouth. Very good, helpful and no complaints.

I would doubt if they can please everyone all the time as very few can.

I haven't seen any previous posts as I was out boating but I hope all turns out fine in the end.
