I've made several bids on the Kipor 3000, yellow model but not won the item. SWMBO told me that Aldi have stocked loads of 2.2kW (2k continuous). Im wondering if they are any good?

They are a little big being the frame type but I have room for it in the engine room.

I feel I should spend a little more and go for a Kipor for around £375 inc delivery.

Comments appreciated.

You should ask at Aldi whether the genny is a true sine wave generator or not. I doubt they will know the answer. But it is important when you consider its future usage. Will you use it for any sensitive equipment like a PC where a true 50 cycle sine wave is a must? If so buy the Kippor, but ensure that it is in itself is a true sine wave - they make both. One red & one yellow. One is and one isn't - and I cant remember which one is which??

Don't know if it's pure sine wave or not but Makro have just reduced the price of their Kingavon ProUser 1.9KW DIESEL generator to £179.99 plus VAT. Saves all the problem with petrol etc.
