Has anyone accurately weighed a Cutlass 27?

Just wondered! I've read various boat tests and technical specifications that quote anything between 6100lbs and 6496lbs. I'm pretty certain Avocet, when craned on one occasion complete with everything on board, was just under 3 tonnes. As I'm faced with something of a transport problem at present, I'm wondering if I might be able to get it light enough to JUST get within the 3.5 tonnes including trailer. Anyone got any real figures?

I would have thought that with boats of that period, weighing one example would be little more than a rough guide to what another might weigh. They weren't stamped out identically by production-line robots...

I don't know how much this helps, if at all, but our Vega is supposed to be 2.3t and one crane driver thought she was closer to 3t. But another crane driver said she was 2.5t so I don't know how accurate these cranes are...

Definitely closer to 3t when in commission which dosent leave much for a trailer that will carry it. Pretty marginal either way I'd have thought.

We loaded and towed and unloaded another forumites C27 a while ago. My three axle trailer weighs 848 kg (checked on weighbridge), and I reckon I was pulling quite a lot over 4000 with boat and mast. (Fairly used to doing that on the farm with the LR.) Certainly not 3.5t.

I can't see you getting a decent trailer and C27 under the limit, sorry.

Thanks all. Yes, I agree it'll be right on the limit (if it's even possible)! The trailer weighs 700kg, and I'm prepared to strip quite a lot out of the boat. It's been out of the water for 8 years, so it's been pretty heavily stripped-out and I'm prepared to make several trips to it with the remained of the stuff. For example, the rudder weighs a good 50kg and I'm happy to take that off! I can also take out a couple of anchors and a few hundred feet of chain, battery, gas bottle, toilet....

Then there's the fuel and water of course, all the soft furnishings and easily removable trim, locker doors etc, dinghy, stanchions & guard wires, boom, rigging...
