Planning a trip from Harwich to Ramsgate - we have Crossing the Thames Estuary book, but am still getting my head around it - I've been told "I'm having a senior moment... So, leaving from Harwich on 14th June at 0800 - is this OK at, say, 5knots ?

If you go via the Little Sunk, as I would, it is almost a straight line, though you might want to avoid some whirly things on the way.

14th June is springs. HW Sheerness is 1311hrs BST. Leaving at the Harwich Landfall wpt at 0800 BST is -5:15 before HW Sheerness and the tables shows that is deeply in the red. Routes 24 and 25 at that start time are both in the green, route 25 the best by far.

Thanks for buying the book. Compare the 'purple points' between each 4 routes, p127, 129, 131 and 133 using the 5kt Ssprings tables and you will see the choices.
