Well, I'll believe you - thousands wouldn't! But the thousands could be wrong. I have been delighted to glimpse a growing number of porposi (I love that word) around the east coast over the past few years. Usually it is only a glimpse of a black dorsal fin, but occasionally I have seen them rolling in the shallows (both in the Blackwater and the Crouch)

I wouldn't swap the east coast for any other part of our coasts, but I do sometimes miss the dolphins, basking sharks and occasional turtles and whales we used to see out west. So the porposi are most welcome! :)
