Harwich Approaches

There are still two or three there.... We grabbed one earlier this year for 10 mins, but they didn't look to be in particularly good nick....

If it were me, I'd put up with the extra 30mins, and carry on down to Levington, and grab one of SYH's moorings.... easier to find, and to pick up, can be trusted, and not surrounded by pots!

PS... we'll be down this evening... perhaps see you about on Saturday.... not sure what our plans are yet, but may well head up to the Rocks or Abrahms Bosum for a Saturday night at anchor

Hi Neil, we may head that way as well. We were planning on West Mersea, but a thrash to windward in a 7 is putting me off! Thought about the Deben or the Ore, crossing the bar Saturday evening!

Will look out for you. Will have the barby on board, so Ramsholt or the Rocks maybe an option depending on wind.

We will be on Sirenia tonight.
Intend to dry out at Ramsholt tomorrow to scrub bottom and sort out the log transducer that I can't get to engage fully.
Not sure of our plans after that.

Give us a shout once you know where you are headed.

My spies tell me you are going to London :D:D

Congrats on the new position

Morgana -

Yes you can DSC as long as you RTFM first:o

DB3 -

Heading London after next weekend.
Just taking it easy this weekend ready to get the project I am finishing handed over next week.

Thanks for the congratulations.
Looking forward to the move.:D

I hope to be out in Chellers tomorrow, haven't decided exactly where to go yet, but a quick trip to the Deben is quite likely. Will keep a lookout for fellow forumites!

Looks like we have a bit of a gathering.

We will be up at The Rocks tomorrow morning to dry out.
There should be 2m over the bar from about 16:00
Forecast is for a westerly so conditions should be fairly calm.

Had a chat with George (Ramsholt Harbour Master) this evening.
He has pointed out a few Ramsholt moorings at The Rocks end of the area that those who don't fancy anchoring will be welcome to use.

Look forward to seeing a few of you.:)

There was at least 1.4m over the bar 30 mins before LW.;)

Where are these calm conditons? From leaving the bar it took 7 hours to beat all the bleeding way to Colne Bar in a F4 to 5. Thank goodness for the Sea Feather & the new foulies as I read my book under what is left of the spray hood! Exchanged 2 or 3 tacks with a 38' cutter so I must have been doing something right!! The Wallet don't you just love it!

Great to see you again and being afloat myself :D :D

I meant calm on the bar.
I make no promises about vomit alley.
You are an optimist if you expect calm along there with a 4 to 5 from anywhere:p

It was less than calm coming back over the bar at lunchtime today.
A steep quartering sea saw us surfing at 8.5 knots for a while. Yeharrr.

Good to meet you and to have the opportunity to inspect Karouise.

Thanks also to The Morgana crew for providing a shopping delivery service to the nether regions of the Deben and for the BBQ.:)
