Harvey\'s Wharf - Falmouth

Whilst escaping from relatives, SWMBO and I had an excellent lunch here. It's right by the slightly disappointing maritime museum.

Pint of quality prawns, with good aioli and nice bread. Very good moules et frites; Better than Douarnez. Couple of large glasses of nice sauvignon and a bottle of fizzy water. All for £24.00

The place was busy, but not packed, Attentive staff and nice ambiance. Good view across the harbour to Trefusis Point.

Oooooohh - "slightly dissapointing maritime museum" that's surprising. I've been there twice and consider it fascinating (but best to avoid during school holidays). I don't understand why it's not better subscribed in there - clearly my view is in the minority!

I'm afraid I agree with Michael. Much as I love anything nautical, there just isn't enough content between the kiddies' stuff to make it a museum rather than the "small boat experience". The radio-controlled yachts are good, though. The best museums (musea ?!) are quirky and full of weird stuff. The one in Mevagissey comes to mind, or Charlestown.

Sort of agree, although slightly off topic. Display not all that, but library very interesting. Also, pay once return free, when I went last year.

So do I re the museum. Most keen when they were building, not so inpressed when I went round part built, and become less inpressed as time went on.

It follows a boat though, a big hole that you throw money into, about £40 million so far has been spent, building it, and bailing it from going bust a number of times.
