I am considering acquiring the Zyklon 22 ft, also known as the Z.4 tonner, design by Harrison Butler. The options are a restoration project or building a new one. Can anybody give me information about:
* Zyklons for sale (some 50 have been built in the thirties)
*drawings or table of offsets
* the adress of the Harrison Butler Association

Any information on this or other tips would be very helpful indeed.

Well, there are three Z4's, and a winter cover for a Z4, listed for sale in the summer edition of the HB association magazine.

Excellent choice! By the way as I think you know all Z4's are Zyklons but not all Zyklons are Z4's - the Z4 was the boat as built by Lockharts and has the triangular shaped chain plates.

Here is the address.

Good luck!

The November 2001 issue of Classic Boat (on sale now)carries a 'Class notes' article on the Z4. It contains a brief history plus other useful information. This will also be availble on the classic boat website www.classicboat.co.uk in due course.
