Just heard a whisper about them ceasing trading at what level I dont know yet, will they be absorbed up by Boat Showrooms, are they the same company or not, some people laid off.

Anyone else heard anything , or have I just been given a bum steer to create gossip.

I thought Harleyford Marine were owned by Boat Showrooms? Maybe they're planning to close the Harleyford office and operate from Shepperton only? I never understood how they did any business at Harleyford anyway as the hassle getting through the security into the Harleyford estate was enough to put many potential punters off IMHO

Mike.
It is rare that I disagree with your contributions here.
The number of Brooms sold by Harleyford over the years staggers me. The lawns at Harleyford Marina are nearly alternate Brooms, most sold by Mark Pearce and his team. I rate them amongst the best brokers that I have ever dealt with.
I have no information on the rumour, but was under the impression that Harleyford Marine was only a trading name for the Harleyford part of Boatshowrooms of London, who trade at Shepperton, Hamble and Harleyford.

miket, Mark Pearce is indeed one of the best boat salesman in the business; unfortunately, we have never quite managed to buy a boat from him but he has always been unfailingly courteous to my wife and I at boat shows
All I was trying to say is that the difficulty in accessing the Harleyford estate itself is possibly a hindrance to potential buyers visiting the brokerage offices. Also, from a business point of view, maybe it makes more sense for all Thames sales to be handled from just one office?
