Took our Hardy Fishing 24 (1999) out for a spin over the bank holiday weekend - noticed a vibration has crept when it's put into gear and we motor. Worse at lower rev's, but still noticeable at higher revs.
Engine appears ok - but looking over the back, the duoprop looks like it has seen better days. No physical dings / missing parts, but it does look a bit ropey.
I'm likening the vibrations it to an unbalanced wheel on a car - if they are not really degraded, I think they can be sent off for grinding and may be ok as a spare perhaps.
We have the Volvo AD41P engine - just wondered if anybody knows what size duo-props are fitted ?
In our rush to get her launched and "in" we forgot to look for any markings on the props when she was on the trailer/hard and I'm now really regretting that.
In an ideal world, I could order in a set, have her put in the sling and quickly fit a new set - rather than have her out and wait for a delivery.
As an aside, are stainless props "that much better" than standard ?
As ever, I thought I would ask on here, most of our problems have been solved very quickly on this forum.
Regards,
Mark
