Now maybe its just me but with the weather in this country I'm starting to question the whole folding canopy thing and starting to think favourably of the hard top (for want of a better description) such as the SC29.

Wondered if anyone knew of any manufacturers making similar in the 24'/25' bracket?

Aquador? Very tasty. This is the 26 HT

The small hardtops are mostly Scandinavian, and tend to have car type sunroofs, rather than half the roof retracting. Look at Aquador and Finnmaster for starters.

Never been keen on flybridge boats, although i've never had one.

Shame the Beneteau Monte Carlo / Sealine SC amongst others don't extend down another size.

The Bertram 25 is a very nice wee flying bridge motor cruiser - and they built a lot of them in the late 60's - early 70's. Here is a link to one for sale :

There is a Bertram 25 FB here which has recently had a complete restoration, including a single Yanmar inboard diesel with a shaft drive replacing the two petrol engines with outdrives.

I never did understand the whole sports boat thing. Well I did untill I had one. But never again. Why not go the whole hog and get a fly bridge and have the best of both worlds.

Agree with you, Haydn but from previous threads on this issue, we're in a minority. Having said that, anything less than 30ft is too small for a flybridge as there is too much weight up top so the boat can feel a bit tippy. But what I really can't understand is why anyone would buy a hardtop sportscruiser 40ft+. I just can't see any advanatage over a flybridge boat. Helm visibility is much worse inside, the windows mist up and, of course, you don't get all that huge space up top. It's a style thing only as far as I can see
