Hard rechroming

Bought myself a little seagull outboard off a for unite. Smashing little motor but in the mood to make it like new. Something to occupy myself with through the winter. Anyone know where I can get the drive shaft tube hard rechromed.

Look around for a firm that refurbishes Hydraulic rams, they hard chrome the ram rods, and not at marine or motorcycle prices.

Also do winches.

Have you thought of getting a stainlesss steel one fabricated? I've wondered, but have no idea if the tubing is of a standard size - or if the idea is simply a non-starter for cost or other reasons. Perhaps someone has investigated?
