Having just bought a spinnaker off eBay, I needed a few bits of string to complete the job (1 halyard and 2 sheets).

The Jimmy Green website has a great little system for spec-ing made-up ropes. Choose the type of rope, choose the length, choose the end fitting, choose the method of finishing the other end, click the button. Easy!

I ordered one day, it was despatched the next and delivered the next. The delivery company gave a one hour estimated window for delivery, their tracking system showed where the vehicle was and where in the queue I was. I even knew the driver's name. And he turned up dead on time.

I'll go back to Jimmy Green next time I need rigging stuff. Usual disclaimer, no connection, just a happy customer.

Yes have had loads from them, always delivered on time and quality splicing.

My experience of JG is the same. But to be fair, Outdoor Xscape have the same "spec-ing" facility and provide truly excellent service too.

As above, no connection (to either) just a happy chappy.

Can't fault their service but £35 for an eye splice! Ouch. Force 4 offered me free splicing after I'd bought the line from them.

Making eye spices with these is immensely pleasing, I went round the boat doing loads

I can't remember exactly how much I was charged by GaelForce (Inverness) but it was not much at all.
Nice bunch of people to deal with too.

Where do you get that figure? They charged me £37 -30% discount for a soft eye with a fixed snap shackle. I think the shackles cost about £14 so that makes a net £12-ish for the splice. Not cheap, but not ridiculous either.

They charge around £35 for soft eye-splicing Dyneema. £13 for "normal" rope.
