Today is one year since I first registered for this site apparently. So nice of Kim to give us free subscriptions on that event.

Made me think how much I HAVEN'T achieved in my quest to buy boat in last year.

- Visited 2 Boatshows
- Got 'hammered' 3 times at Boat shows (London was so good went back and did it again)
- Following second attempt at Guinness tent , friend insisted on testing Horn on every Sunseeker (read that how you will)
- Made offers on 5 different boats
-Paid deposit on one boat, then gazzumped (b**** Italians)
- Eventually learnt the right 'order of things' - Thanks TCM and everyone else for the advice
- Read more drivel on these pages than most people get in a lifetime - Thanks everyone
-Convinced SHWNBO that I have lost more money on investments than I could have spent on a boat ...ever
- EVENTUALLY bought a berth

But STILL no boat !!

So what does that make me? Richer - NO......Happier - No.......Conclusion Buy Boat in next month.; Thanks everyone for the advice and fun...the next 12 months could give you all even more laughs at my expense

A boat, a boat, my kingdom for a boat..

Terrible thing envyy. I'll follow the posts with interest. Given my technical abilities extend to being able toread the maker's names on the engines ...( I hate being colour blind), bit more ambitious project than I could readily manage.

Take Care

Multi-colored hulls

Sounds absolutely wonderful, unfortunate thing is anything that ridiculous would have to be a Broom or similar. and we know how popular they are on these pages. Come to think of it, the Broom looks silly enough on its own without garish colour schemes.

Was the owner's name Edmonds or Blobby by any chance?

Re: Multi-colored hulls

Well you did mention colour blindness! Brooms are good boats, don't listen to them, they are not as flash as a princearse/sunsucker, but infinitely better built! I admit you do not get an inflatable bimbo foredeck ornament in the inventory, but never mind....eh!

Re: Slagging off Brooms........

Well , I have to confess that self-preservation for us both might well be the order of the day.

Best solution would be obviously to take any boat from aforementioned Priceless or S/seeker boats , take to the High Seas and just outrun and outmanouvre him...(what makes me think I'm about to get deluged with hate mail and objective analysis)!!

Confession

I think I have been waiting for this post! Never has one marque been so strongly protected in its history!

I could claim that Learnng is a lifelong pastime which we all do. Rather than be crass, I would just admit to having crawled over so many recently that I can never have so much current knowledge again.

No, seriously , having seen Brooms so readily protected , I thought it might wind someone up.

P.S. Thames Pilot ??? Who was he ? Pas moi monsieur.
