Just to remind my UK friends of what summer will be like.
Did a night race last night about 2.5 hrs partly in twilight partly in dark. About 12knots of mostly steady wind and temp about 20 degrees. I had my faithfull crew plus another lady sailor and her fairly inexperienced boyfriend. Apart from one spinnaker moment when we broached when the wind swung on the nose all went well and we found easily the downwind buoy.
Coming back on the wind I climbed into the cabin to give the other 3 some room. Ah the sweet relaxing joy of knowing you have a good crew in charge bright moonlight, the gentle gurgle of water at a steady 5knots on the wind. A bit of heel and I didn't care about the 2 other boats in our division in front of us. It revived my love of sailing.
Ended up 6mins behind the winner and 4 mins behind the next 30fter. olewill
