Hanse 320 port and starboard lights not working. I have 12.7v showing at the switches and 0.8v showing at the lamp terminals on the multimeter and the fuses look intact. Is there something obvious I am missing or a common problem with Hanse, not had the boat a year yet so learning way around it.

Hi. I don't know the Hanse fittings but most of the older lights were not waterproof. Somewhere there is a dodgy contact, and it is a matter of tracing where. Are the contacts you tested at the light shiny and clean? If not, then, as a bodger myself, I would sand them as well as I could and retest. It is said to be a good thing to leave the lights on for an hour or so occasionally, to allow them to heat up and dry out. The situation may be different with LEDs, but for some reason makers of boats and fittings don't seem to see the need to make them proof against salt water.

The cable for the bow nav light comes through a conduit into the anchor locker at the top left If the wiring is similar to our 301. This is then taken up through the front leg of the pulpit where they are joined. It is probably just a couple of unprotected through crimps which have corroded. I had to rewire and seal ours recently as the cable to the fitting had nearly all turned into verdigris. I would also check in the section on the My Hanse owners site forum for your model as I would expect someone has had the same problem. Its a very useful site for all Hanse Owners to share experience.
