Any help would be appreciated. A while ago I accessed information for different products but for the life of me can't remember where I started looking!
Anyone satisfied/dissatisfied. We just want a bog standard, robust, simple handheld VHF. Transmit power and battery life are obviously important.
Thanks guys & gals.

This question comes up on a monthly basis. Most people are agreed on Standard Horizon. Try the search you will find tons of info.

Very pleased with my Cobra. Its waterproof, I can change the rechargeable batteries with ordinary ones in an emergency, and it was cheap!

This one often comes up and everyone seems to recommend what they happen to own (Entel HT) which implies they all do the job. I wonder if we should ask if there are any brands to avoid, or would that have legal implications...

I have a Silva which does everything....

BUT.........

if I buy a replacement, it will have a battery indicator on it. The Silva's battery life is good, but it dies without warning.
