if the battery is completely flat, useless, then carefully separate the case and remove the cell(s) to be found inside. With any luck they will be standard sized ones that can be bought from someone like RS components. At least this is what I did, my batteries were standard MN1500 type batteries and a trawl on the Internet found some Lithium (I think) batteries with solder tags of about 1400mah. The result is a HH radio that I have never run flat!

Not Lithium batteries. Probably Nickel Metal Hydride. They are sufficient similar but far better than the old Nickel Cadmium.
Lithium while better are not substitutable and require very special charging circuits. olewill
