hand held GPS pocket pc\'s and Dsc VHF

Hi
I am planning over the winter to try to get my electronic nav gear sorted out. I would like to connect my Garmin gps 72 to a dsc VHS and also my Ipac pocket pc. I would like to be able to power all of the units from my 12V supply. I imagine that this is all possible and that I would need to build some form of interface unit to connect all of the wires together. As most forumites will appreciate the cables and connectors for the pocket pc and the handleld gps unit are quite expensive to buy. does any one have any prior experience of similar connections and have better neater and more seamanlike way of making the connections than a whole bunch of seperate interconnect cables lashed together.

You can get 12 volt power cords with cigar lighter type plugs for most PDA and GPS for less than £10 each on eBay

To make your own cables you will have to buy the device connectors. Check out pfranc.co.uk for Garmin connectors - they are about the only source
