hamble moorings

Its that time of year when the rush for moorings take place, renewing berths or hoping you move up the list 'will I get a sub-let this year?' Do you have a view on the subject?

I've given up waiting: still 7-8 years ahead (4 years already paid). I'll leave the Hamble to others.

I have a mooring sub-let from a contractor. Still far cheaper than going the marina route, and he provides me with car parking and a slip for my dinghy without extra payment! Meantime I pay ten squid to the harbourmaster each year with no great hope of ever getting "my own" hamble mooring - hope to be proved wrong.

It is perhaps worth pointing out that your ten squid actually goes to The Crown Estate, not the Harbour Authority.
