Has anyone visited the river hamble lately and what is their thoughts on harbour dues and things in general?

I spent 3 nights in Swanwick Marina recently on my way to the Channel Islands (my folks live close).
I expected the bill to hurt a bit but The 50% extra for a catamaran, when it has no more beam than a lot of the motor boats in the marina, did hurt a bit.

Oh well, that will teach me.
Couple of shipwrights in the marina were really helpfull though. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Anyway. I'm back in the Essex Creeks now - Free and Much Much better. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Often visit Hamble, but I use my free nights from premier as a berth holder. Cheap place to visit.
Seriously the harbour dues are part of berthing but they do seem to spend a lot on nav marks in the lower reaches.
