Hi,

Has anyboady used David Hopkins for survey work? I am looking to get a prepurchase survey done.

Hi, yep I used him about 5 years ago. Very thorough but quite costly. Saying that he saved me more than the cost of his survey though !

Yes, around April 09. I thought he was first rate with a wealth of experience, a very sharp eye and sense of humour to match!

I hope he will not have retired by the time my next boat survey is due as I would instruct him again.

He did a survey for the buyer of my boat. He was convinced that the batteries were knackered along with the rest of the electrical system.

Reason being he only found the engine start battery switch and didn't realise that all the panel switches where up for on!

I sold a boat that he surveyed, I thought he was very good and helpful.

He recently surveyed a 72 year old wooden racing yacht for me and was very thorough.
Prices seemed in line with everyone else, I would recomend him.

Will you be there in person for the survey? I recommend that you are.

Due to work I can't be, on our last boat I was not either and that turned out ok. If there is any last minute change I will try and get there but it is a bit a couple of hours away from me also. Been told that I will have the survey report in possibly 24 hours following the survey, that is quick service. Let's hope that all comes up good.

I got mine in that sort of time scale. Being there means you can ask questions and also gives the report more meaning. I learnt quite a few good tips from him.
