Any radio Hams interested in a short cruise round the Mull area visiting isolated lighthouses and transmitting from them on HF in the week leading up to and the weekend of Lighthouse weekend? (Thats Mon 16th until Sunday 22nd August 2010).

International Lighthouse weekend is when Hams worldwide set up transmitters at or very near lighthouses in many places and contact as many other lighthouses as possible. (Not a contest, time for a chat with each). There's expected to be over 400 lighthouses active from over 50 countries.

In the past there's not been many of the isolated lighthouses active in this way, especially those inaccessible by land.

I had in mind to visit some of those islet or rock mounted lights and make a few contacts from them. Starting at Dunstaffnage marina, perhaps start with Lismore Light and Lady Rock, then up the sound of Mull to those there and Arnamurchan. Then out to Skerryvore and a few others, maybe circumnavigate Mull and back towards Oban.

Anyone interested?
I'm in a Rival 32, sleeps 5, but I only want say 2 and me, total =3. Radio installed for 70cm band to 80m band. I travel to the marina from Central Scotland (W. Lothian) and return Sunday.

If interested, either PM me, or direct email, or phone 07770726759
