This is a strange one - I've had a couple of inflatable dinghies with Halkey Roberts valves and the M.O. has always been to use a 12v pump to get most of the air in, then top it up with the foot pump. This new (to me) dinghy I now have has the same H-R valves, but they require a much higher pressure to open - the 12v pump won't open them at all and the foot pump feels like much harder work. What dictates the opening pressure of this type of valve? The core moves in and out freely when in the 'inflate' position - the H-R adaptor I'm using is the correct fit - am I missing something? Thanks
