A lot of the later Halcyons were fitted with either the Albin 10, or the Vire 6 - both now obsolete. 6Hp is not really enough for a heavy boat like this, but the 10hp gave adequate power. Many earlier ones also fitted Stuart Turner 8s and 10s and a few had the smaller Stuart 4

Prop size will depend entirely on the power and revs of whatever engine you fit, and you should be guided by the makers /installers recommendations.

Alternatively companies such as Lancing Marine, or T Norris (both of whom advertise regularly in PBO) will usually know from experience what prop your boat needs with most current engines, or can calculate the optimum size for you.
