Had to get afloat today!

I just had to get afloat today, best weather for ages, so went to hire something on the river severn. ended up at UPTON and rented an aluminium fishing punt with a 4 hp honda.

Brand new boat, with all the kit, life jackets, tiller extension, bailer, anchor,

ok the engine was older,& ran well.
but what a cracking day.

Ha, no still stuck. Had all sorts on it today, drills, grinders and chisels but no its still there.

Are you trying to get the roller out of the fitting, or the fitting off the deck?

Well there's two, a stainless roller attached to an aluminium casting. The stainless is ok and came off ok, but the aluminium has turned to dust mostly and leaving the base behind which wouldn't budge. We got it off today though with a crowbar, all good

Hells bells !! parts available? or something else?

Yea, rang Broom up and they put us in contact with the original maker, who still has all of the castings. A phone call to him and he cast one for us.
