Yipee - I've just bagged myself a new mobo. A 2008 Jeanneau Prestige 36 with a pair of Volvo D300's.

It sounds exciting but am feeling a bit 'omg what have I done', so any words telling me how much fun I can look forwards to will be welcome.

Oh no, not the Jeanneau Prestige 36 - isn't that the one where it turns directly upside down in anything more than a F3

Seriously, OMG: What you have you done?

More seriously: Congratulations :) Our neighbour had one of those and went "everywhere" in it (CI, France, Scillies etc.), and said that it felt very capable, even when caught out with the weather. Nice boat!

Congrats on the new boat, don't worry about this uh-oh moment, it'll go away once you actually get your hands on the boat. In the meantime, a big celebratory drink should do the trick! Well done and happy boating.

Cheers
Jimmy

Another thumbs up, nice boat, very nearly bought one 5 years ago but chose the Princess but it was a close call.

Yep IM a past owner of P36 but with the 360 engines. Loved it as a very good safe passage maker, you will have lots of fun

Congratulations Graham , lovely boat , good economy from those engines and especially like the football pitch on the stern that they laughingly call a swim platform :D.

It's on stilts at the mo so we've got to arrange a surveyor and craneage onto the water for a sea trial. I want the annodes changed before she goes in as I'm guessing they're magnesium, the boat having been kept inland.

We want to get a plotter and autopilot fitted - the plotter we want is a Raymarine e7 but supposedly isn't available in 12' size until March so we've some homework to do to see if we can use the existing transducers and get it fitted without a lift-out. She's at Hamble and I don't fancy bringing her home to Kent using only a hand-held GPS and charts - ok, I'm a chicken.

The other thing is a name change. I've been reading past threads on the subject - I might have to rip off the old lettering and replace it after dark 'coz I'm sure as hell not holding any mumble jumbo ceremony. Ok, I might spill some Asti Spumante on the foredeck, if our glasses are full.

Congrats on your purchase, remember the omg feeling, still continued after I'd taken delivery, all part of the fun.

Bet you can't wait to hand over, spring coming, new boat coming, happy days..
