Okay won't go into detail, but I am hacked off!

Season, for me anyway, is over. Back to getting up in the dark and leaving work in the dark.

Standing on platforms in the cold, listening to the endless reasons why the train can't run.

Blah whine, blah!

Cheer me up! Please!

Same here. Was going to give up on paid employment, start own company, and give up on daily commute. Then some [--word removed--] made me an offer too good to turn down, so now faced with conundrum of going back to daily grind and commuting.

The season is nowhere near over- keep sailing though the winter- the air's heavier ( /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif) and there are fewer boats around.

Agree with you about the dark commute having done it when living in London- not good for the soul.
Book some weekends up now so you have some landmarks through a cold dark winter. I find skiing good winter landmark.

Is there any mileage in some enterprising Sea School ( Hello! John Goode? ) offering some v. simple boats for hire ...e.g. Long Drascombes ... to the likes of us who just want a freebie day out, an escape from the office, a 'sickie'?

Count me in....!

Hey time to think about sailing all year round in beautiful sailing conditions, but first.
Can you bat ?
Can you bowl?
What is your fielding like ?
Wanna play cricket " down under' ...
We played well last night and thrashed the World 11, but could consider your application for the future... let me know. BrianJ

Shame about the Ashes

It's easy to beat a team of 2 from England plus 9 from also ran countries. You need as many England rejects as you can get. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Shame about the Ashes

Oh, well, I'll be bacjk on my boat on monday, nice and warm, go out for a few days, maybe pop over to Majorca, who knows!!

Re: Shame about the Ashes

Duncan - just hacked off with work, and dreaming of sun kissed beaches and bow candy ;-)

BrendenS - Yeah kind of same position, they keep laying people of and everytime I say "ME....ME....ME" they laugh. It's not that I am even doing anything, other than going brain dead, it's just in case a big project comes in!

NAS - Only problem with that is then I get on the train that's going to the water, not the one that's going to the mire that is work.

Billbobaggins - I like you! Hell why just a day, self certification is good for a week! Cough, Sniff, not feeling so good!

BrianJ - Mmm let me get this right, you want me to dress up in some heavy gear and run around in the hot while some bloke chucks cannon balls at me at 90 MPH. Billbo apparently stress is a good one, at least 6 months!

ccscott49 - I know where you live ;-)

Okay, I will cheer you up.

No hang on, I think this will only cheer me up...

Anyway, I work from home in Mid Cheshire, but also have a business in Walsall.

Boat is in North Wales Menai Straights.

What if, I moved from Cheshire to North Wales and when the weather was nice I could re-direct calls to mobile whilst messing about on the water? I already have two waterfront holiday lets there, so should be able to sell up Cheshire house, buy another house and be close to holiday lets as well as the boat. Sorted!

I don't know about you, but it certainly cheered me up.

Thanks
