On the news tonight, looking wicked.
I have lived (still do) just through the foot tunnel from what was widely perceived to be her resting place. Used to go and talk to the cuarator in me school dinnertime with me chip roll, explaining to tourists what this bits for etc. To see her rotting these last few years, unopen and looking very jaded, covered in bird crap with tourists peering over the railing in a sort of sympathetic manner was sad and embarrasing. To finally see her under full sail looking like she's a month old and doing what she was built for is a bloody marvel, Congrats to all who put the time in, my hat is off to yer, thank you.

I quite agree. Boats should be sailed for as long as is possible during their lifetime, not left to decay in a concrete pit. Lively Lady is a good example of older yachts providing extended service and benefitting from it.

Gipsy Moth

For the latest pix of her, (including my daredevil up the mast in a force 1 shots) here's a link to the gallery

She'll be in the fleet review tomorrow, although trying to spot her might be like trying to find a needle in a haystack! However she does have very shiny masts and will have deck full of people who can't stop grinning /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: Gipsy Moth

Saw her at the weekend in the Medina- she looks great.

Brilliant to see her afloat without a rotting cockpit full of McDonalds wrappers and empty coke cans.
