I also had a problem with theft in Largs haven and at the time several others were having the same problem turned out it was rife down there and not one bit interested in the office security is poor at best!

perhaps its time to start a "thefts from Largs" thread on here & the sailboat forum

my wife works part time in the sailing club office & lots of boatowners both power & sail are members & are on the mailing list,we might be able to persuade the sailing club to send out a "be vigilant" email to members

it would be a good idea to get more evidence of thefts to prove its not isolated

I'm sure if the marina became aware that evidence of theft was being publicised (in the public interest) that they would take more steps to avoid it & reassure berth holders that they taking steps to prevent further thefts

if people want to pm details & email addresses we could share info via group emails rather than on the public forum,assuming people dont want to discuss in public

another route may be to post on the marina & lsc facebook pages to warn people to beware of any equipment offered in susspicious circumstances & ask if others have had any problems with theft. Obviously in the tone of public interest of course
