I can't remember who mentioned it before (I think it was Solitaire) but does anyone know who does the RIB trips out of Gunwharf Quays?

For my recent birthday, Mrs.V kindly bought me a Red Letter Days thingy for trip on a Powerboat (Californian HTM SR24) down in Southampton. This is planned for PM on Saturday 5th August.

We are planning to stay in Port Solent that night, so I wanted to make the most of the trip down to the coast and have a run out on the Sunday morning. So if any one can recommend anyone, it would be most appreciated.

Also I was thinking about coming down on the Friday and going on the Wightlink ferry cruise to see the fireworks for the last night of Cowes week. Has anyone been on this? Is it full of drunken yobs? Is it a worthwhile outing?

Sorry for all the questions.
Many Thanks

Yes, did the Wightlink trip from Portsmouth. OK I guess, and handy if the weather turns, but they drop the hook a little bit away from the action and you don't get the atmosphere of doing it in your own boat. Better to get Red-Jet and watch from Cowes IMHO (if you don't mind crowds).

It was me! The trips run at weekends and all you have to do is rock up! The caravan is positioned at the top of the gangway onto the pontoons. I don't have anything to do with anymore! However if you want to have a run out on a rib that is a bit more substantial than just a quick burn around the forts for about 10 mins, then PM me.

Thanks for the replys.
I think we will skip the Friday night excursion but will definatley have a run out on the Sunday.
Solitaire, I will PM you in a while.

Cheers all.
