Changed both my primary and fine fuel filters today. Was pleased to see that at the primary filter the fuel looked clean and the filter did not appear to have any sign of the dreaded diesel bug. However, when I then took off the fine filter I found that the outside was coated in a clear jelly like substance, which I have never seen in previous years. Both filters last changed about a year ago, and I have done about 140 hours motoring in 2011. Am I right in thinking that this gunge is a product of the new diesel fuel we are being supplied with and the bio-diesel it contains, which makes it hold onto more water?
