And finally for the record there was a 2kt tidal flow and about 12kt wind (max). But in fairness they did not move an inch overnight with a 180 degree change in tial direction. I became unstuck at East Head (Chichester) once in just such conditions.

I guess yer pays yer money and yer take yer chances applies

Didn't see the anchor but it looked like a skinny chain or warp! Sorry about the pic quality, too much wash about.

But help was close at hand if they dragged....

BTW somebody took out our port bow light overnight, heard the bang but saw nothing when I got up, about 3am I think, no other damage.

Hope it is just the light. Did you notice the Sunsail boat trying to pick up a buoy under sail? After about 10 attempts and many close misses to other boats they finally lost their boathook. Scary stuff!

I was surprised that the HM just sat close by and didn't say anything. I saw one pickup with the main pinned in when they sailed 2 x 360s around the buoy with 2 crash gybes that had them ducking fast before the foredeck guy's arms failed and he had to drop the buoy. After we left and were motoring head to wind just 20m off Black Rock, a 35 footish mobo came out from Yarmouth from astern of us and squuezed between us and the buoy at full chat and max wash, nuts! The Solent on a sunny day, all the fun of the fair!
