I bought my first motorcycle in 1974, a Suzuki A100, when the price was £200 brand new and £190 discounted. Sold it a year later for £220 and bought a new Suzuki GT250A for £450.
And in 1980 - only 5 years later - I bought my first house (2 bed end of terrace) in a village that was (then) a cheap alternative to Cambridge at a price of £18,000! Inflation was truly rampant in those days.

Not when you consider it could sleep eight, and venture across oceans in a force 9, when 40 footers were cowering in the marina!n 1982, an Anderson 22 was £6,505.

They nearly always used the new ones as demonstrators which was also a good way of testing them. I think that the 8m was called Fellowship and the 9m was called Friendship. Certainly for the 9m all they had to do was put the Dodger in place around the cockpit.MY 8M Catalac was £8800 new in 1975 but was sold as a "used"/demonstrator to avoid VAT perhaps.
