Last year in May and August we paid £18/night outside on the outer harbour pontoons in St Peter Port (we are too deep for the marina where the prices are the same as outside). This week we were charged £24/night which is an increase of 33%! All this to be rafted up, with no power available and the water hose (no boat washing allowed) would not reach us anyway. Now since GY is VAT free, that £24 per night would equate to being charged £28.20 on the mainland with VAT added and the comparison would be say Yarmouth or Lymington where we pay around £15/night INC VAT. Oh and if we used the water taxi, it was an extra £4 for the two of us return trip. IMO too much and we will plan around minimising stays in future.
St Peter Port WiFi is very poor. On the outer pontoons we found it only worked at HW and even then intermittently, yet we got good signals from lots of other sources not available to connect to. friends inside the marina also had very intermiitent signals and even tried, with no better results, from the top of the wall in case it was a LW signal problem with stuff in the way.
