A couple of weeks ago I managed to trip on the top guard wire, fell off onto the pontoon, and managed to pull the wire out of the Sta Loc fork terminal.

Can anybody suggest a type of terminal that is easy to undo and pull out of the way whilst tied up, but can easily be put back onto the stanchion and tightened? I can't think how it would work unless involving a bottle screw.

Thanks for the info. Do you put this onto the stanchion and then tightened, or does it just fit and then in some way snap tighter?

(I'm asking these questions because I think I'll ask one of the riggers who advertise on the marina noticeboard to do it for me, and always feel hopeless if asking somebody to do something without understanding the concept of how it works).

The hooks are normally swaged to the end of the life line and then hook into an eye on the stanchion. The nature of the hook, means that as you close it, the line tensions up. You would need to have an M6 roll swage fitted to the lifeline and then the hook can be screwed on to that.
