Thought I would spend day putting new main track on as I was worried that worn traveller might pull off the old track. Off course the manufacturer of the old track is no longer in business, so I couldn't just buy a new traveller (life is never that easy (or cheap)).
Got the new track all set up and started to enlarge the holes (6mm bolts on new track, 4mm on old) drilled the first three and then the generator stopped and no amount of cursing would get it to go again - had the bl**dy thing serviced this tear as well. so will have to fix that tomorrow instead of a nice little sail (probably a bit of grit in the jet)

and before someone says that it wouldnt have been a problem with a portable, I have 2 portables, but I am drilling 21 more holes through 2" of teak and have a number of them with a 3mm stainless plate at the bottom which also needs to be drilled - hence the 240v drill! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Monohulls generally have shorter mainsheet tracks, therefore requiring fewer holes. Have you tried one of these?

<hr width=100% size=1>my opinion is complete rubbish, probably.
