Hi,
I've just had a price from Aktio yard for doing a small repair on the bottom of rudder and another small repair down the port side. I'm not going to pay what they are asking. Boat is in their yard.
I've just Googled a list of companies in the area. Can anyone recommend someone that they used. A recommendation beats Google every time for me.

Thankyou in advance.

Richard

I cannot think of anybody in that area personally, but if I was in a similar position I think I would consult either Ionian Boat Assistance who are a british outfit based in Nidri or ask Simon Trippier of Sivota Yacht Services who he would recommend/use. Both IBA and SYS work regularly in the yards at Preveza.

Just had a fair bit of work done ( square m of scratches etc plus filling under anchor stem etc) The greek guy that did it was sent to me by Jiannis (Aktio yard owner) and did a great job , kept in touch with me and even sent emailed photos, cost 150 euros which I thought was very good value.I can get you his number if you want it.

The best guy without doubt is Les Wood of Ionian composits, an artist in GRP work. He works in the Aktio yard. I would avoid Greeks working on my boat - but thats just a personal preference.

We also used Les. He is a great guy. Typical hard working englishman with a ready smile. The work is superb and he sticks to the price.
